Monica Castillo \u201921 is an electrical engineering major who lives in Stockton. She transferred\u00a0to Pacific from a\u00a0local\u00a0community college as a math major\u00a0but decided to\u00a0change her degree\u00a0because she thought it would help her have a bigger impact on people\u2019s lives. As a student in the\u00a0SOECS\u00a0Cooperative Education program<\/a>, she interned with\u00a0the medical device company, Abbott Laboratories,\u00a0where\u00a0she got to work on an update to a heart pump\u00a0for a client in Korea.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite thing to do on campus? <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just walking around the campus, and also going to soccer games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there a faculty or staff member at Pacific with whom you\u2019ll stay in touch after you graduate?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Elizabeth Basha, I had digital design class with her, and she was also my adviser. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the latest you’ve stayed up to study for a test?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4 a.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you have a best friend at Pacific, what’s their major?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Electrical engineering <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite class?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorites are power electronics and automatic control systems.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What were your hardest classes?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advanced circuits and data structures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s your favorite food on campus?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chicken sandwich at the Lair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite place to study on campus?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MESA Lounge on the 3rd floor of Khoury Hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite thing to do off-campus?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just like having fun, so it can be hiking or playing soccer to even traveling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s one thing about Pacific that you would never want to change?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
